We are working with a leading facilities management company in the United Kingdom, dedicated to providing high-quality and reliable services to commercial clients. As part of their commitment to excellence, they are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join their dynamic team.

Job Overview:
As a Commercial Gas Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of gas-based systems and equipment in commercial buildings within your local and surrounding areas. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining, and repairing various gas appliances and systems, conducting safety inspections, diagnosing faults, and providing expert advice to clients. You will work closely with their clients to deliver exceptional service and contribute to the overall success of their operations.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Maintain, and repair commercial gas appliances, heating systems, boilers, and related equipment in compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Conduct routine inspections and safety checks on gas equipment, identifying and rectifying any faults or issues promptly.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems in gas-based systems, using your technical expertise and knowledge of gas engineering principles.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on gas-related matters, offering solutions to enhance performance, efficiency, and safety.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure timely completion of projects and efficient resolution of customer inquiries or complaints.
  • Create detailed service reports, maintaining accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continually enhance your technical knowledge and skills.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach, building strong relationships with clients and delivering exceptional service at all times.
  • Support the company in achieving business objectives, contributing to the growth and success of the organization.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven experience as a Gas Engineer, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
  • Gas Safe registered with relevant qualifications, such as COCN1.
  • City and Guilds or equivalent NVQ 2/3 in a mechanical discipline
  • Health and Safety Training
  • OFTEC Registered ideally
  • Solid understanding of commercial gas systems, appliances, and associated controls.
  • Unvented water systems
  • Have electrical safety training.
  • IPAF and PASMA qualification would be desirabl
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing faults in gas-based systems, including boilers, heating systems, and catering equipment
  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and safety standards, such as Gas Safety Regulations, Building Regulations, and Health and Safety requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with clients and colleagues.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites as required.
  • Flexibility to work on-call or outside regular business hours in case of emergencies.
