We are currently working with an industry leading Building Services & Renewable Energy company who are seeking a Commercial Heat Pump Design Engineer to join their Renewables division. As a Commercial Heat Pump Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and specification works on a wide range of Decarbonisation projects throughout the UK and Ireland. The company work with a wide range of properties and projects such as Hospitals, Schools, Universities, Energy Centres, Commercial Plant Rooms and many others which are seeking to decarbonise their property. It is expected that you will hold heat pump technical knowledge that covers the range of different types of heat pump systems and viable refrigerants to support our inhouse design teams in developing the best possible project specific solutions to for each decarbonisation project. The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong technical knowledge of commercial heat pump systems and experience of integrating these within existing buildings in the UK & ROI market.
You will:
Collaborate with clients, architects, consultants and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
Research project specific geological data and liaise with specialists as required to evaluate all applicable options on a project-by-project bases
Design and develop heat pump systems, including system specifications, schematics, and layouts.
Conduct detailed analysis and simulations to ensure systems meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
Provide technical expertise and support during the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of heat pump systems.
Provide technical support to customer-facing teams to resolve product-related issues.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and testing protocols.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of current and future F-Gas regulations including potential environmental impacts, and ways to design systems that reduce energy consumption and carbon footprints.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial heat pump design and engineering.
In-depth knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles.
