Role Summary:

As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of solar PV projects, managing contracts, and mitigating risks. You’ll collaborate closely with origination leads, project teams, and clients to achieve successful outcomes. Your expertise in the solar sector will be essential in driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Commercial Development:

    • Work closely with origination leads to support and negotiate option and lease contracts for solar and battery projects.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with commercial clients interested in adopting solar PV solutions.
  2. Risk Management:

    • Manage key commercial and business risks associated with individual deals.
    • Ensure effective risk mitigation strategies are in place.
  3. Contract Negotiation:

    • Negotiate and agree on contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
    • Close deals efficiently and effectively.
  4. Financial Oversight:

    • Take responsibility for the financial management of solar projects.
    • Recognize business opportunities and put together bids to win new contracts.
  5. Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, and legal professionals.
    • Foster strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in the commercial field, specifically within solar PV or related renewable energy sectors.
  • Strong negotiation skills and contract management expertise.
  • Understanding of solar energy systems, design principles, and construction techniques.
  • Financial acumen and ability to manage project budgets effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


This role is based in the UK, with the possibility of hybrid remote work.
