Electrician for Commercial EV Charger Installation

Company Overview:
Our client is a leading provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions across the UK. They  are committed to promoting sustainable transportation by expanding the EV charging infrastructure. As part of their growth strategy, they are seeking a skilled Electrician to join their  team and contribute to the installation of commercial EV chargers at petrol station forecourts.
Position Summary:
As a Commercial EV Charger Installation Electrician, you will be responsible for installing EV charging equipment at petrol stations. You’ll work closely with our project managers, site supervisors, and other team members to ensure safe and efficient installation of charging stations.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Installation and Wiring:
    • Install and wire commercial EV chargers according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
    • Ensure proper electrical connections, grounding, and safety protocols during installation.
    • Collaborate with site supervisors to determine optimal charger placement and cable routing.
  2. Testing and Commissioning:
    • Conduct thorough testing of installed chargers to verify functionality and safety.
    • Troubleshoot any issues related to wiring, communication, or charging performance.
    • Commission newly installed chargers and ensure they are ready for public use.
  3. Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of installation details, including diagrams, cable routes, and equipment specifications.
    • Complete installation reports and submit them to project managers.
  4. Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to health and safety guidelines while working on petrol station forecourts.
    • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols.
    • Ensure compliance with electrical regulations and codes.
  5. Collaboration:
    • Coordinate with petrol station staff, site managers, and other contractors during installation projects.
    • Communicate effectively with team members and provide status updates.
Qualifications:
  • Electrical Qualification: City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Electrician, preferably with exposure to EV charging systems.
  • Certifications: 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) certification.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in electrical installation, wiring, and testing.
    • Familiarity with EV charging equipment and protocols.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Additional Information:
  • Location: Various petrol station forecourts across the Midlands.
Salary and Benefits: Core Benefits:
