Head of Quality & Continuous Improvement – Overview

We are working with one of the UK’s leading Technical and Energy Services Providers who specialise in Energy Services, FM, Engineering, Construction, Infrastructure and building services. They are looking for a Quality Lead/ Head of Quality to join the team, driving operational excellence and influencing change at scale.

They are a business backed by one of the largest low carbon electricity generators in the country. They have 5000 staff, a turnover of £600m and operate within a complex and highly regulated industry based around infrastructure, construction and energy. They have 5 x divisions which means complexity, silos, inconsistent processes, and different standards between business units - exactly what this role is meant to fix.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity with responsibility for embedding a consistent, business-wide approach to quality, continuous improvement, governance, and operational performance. This role goes beyond quality assurance - it’s about transforming how the business operates, improving performance at scale, and positioning quality as a key enabler of strategic growth and operational excellence.

Reporting into senior leadership, you’ll play a critical role in aligning quality strategy with business objectives, influencing stakeholders across the organisation, and driving a culture focused on accountability, efficiency, customer outcomes, and “right first time” delivery. You’ll have direct contact with all of the key stakeholders within the group and crucially, you will sit above all 5 divisions as a separate entity, allowing you to do your job and enact real change without having to get approval first.

Head of Quality & Continuous Improvement – Requirements
 
  • Proven experience leading quality, operational excellence, or business improvement initiatives within a large, complex organisation
  • Experience operating across multiple business units or divisions, driving alignment and consistency at scale
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including experience working with senior leadership teams
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems, governance frameworks, assurance processes, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience within regulated or high-hazard industries such as construction, engineering, energy, nuclear, infrastructure, manufacturing, or petrochemical environments


Head of Quality & Continuous Improvement – Salary & Remuneration
 
  • Salary circa £95,000
