Heat Pump Engineer (Service & Breakdown) – Overview

We are currently working with a large Renewable Energy company who are seeking  an experienced Heat Pump Engineer to cover Service, Maintenance and Breakdown works on domestic properties in the local area. The company have been established since 2009 and are one of the largest renewable energy companies in the South of the UK. They have circa 80 Engineers working throughout the South and they currently manage over 50,000 renewable technology assets for more than 80 different clients.

Day to day, you will be covering your local area travelling to domestic properties to service, maintain and repair Air Source Heat Pumps and associated systems such as Unvented Cylinders and more. You will be kept local to home, covering the immediate surrounding area. You will be working on a range of Manufacturer Heat Pumps such Mitsubishi's, Daikin and others. You work day to day will be either annual servicing and maintenance of Heat Pumps, or attending sites when a customers system has broken down to find the fault and rectify it.

Their heating engineers cover everything up to the boiler (heat pump, cylinder etc). This is a very relaxed position with the average amount of jobs being around 6 a day and often less. When your jobs are done you go home. They offer all of their Engineers the opportunity to develop via a range of training courses such as BPEC Level 3 in Heat Pump Service & Maintenance, F Gas 2079 and others.

The call out rota only operates throughout Winter and its not very often that you are actually called out. The rota is 1 in 4. £100 for holding the phone and £65 per job + hourly if the call out goes over a certain time.

Heat Pump Engineer (Service & Breakdown) – Requirements
 
  • Proven experience as Heating Engineer and ideally with ASHP experience
  • Experience Servicing, Maintaining and Repairing Heat Pumps
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills
  • Full driving license and willingness to travel to different sites local to you, as required.
  • City and Guilds/ NVQ in Plumbing.
  • Unvented cylinders
 
Heat Pump Engineer (Service & Breakdown) – Salary & Remuneration
 
  • Basic Salary up to £40,000
  • Door to Door Travel Pay (approx. £5-6k on top of salary)
  • Company Van + Fuel Card
  • Overtime
  • 25 Days + BH (33 Days Total)
  • 2-6 jobs a day - Paid a full day regardless if you finish early.
  • Uniform, PPE, Tools
  • Ongoing Training and progression with opportunity to complete new qualifications
