Mechanical Surveyor
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Our client is a progressive company that provides a wide range of specialist services to their  valued customers. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Surveyor to join their team.
Role Overview:
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in the FM services industry, coupled with at least 3 years of mechanical experience as a project/contracts manager. As a Mechanical Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards, codes of practice, and relevant regulations. Your assessments and expertise will contribute to maintaining accurate records and up-to-date paperwork.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Assessment:
    • Evaluate work projects to determine labour requirements, materials, and cost-effective solutions.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to obtain the best value for new and additional work requirements.
  • Record Keeping:
    • Maintain well-organized records of business activities related to mechanical projects.
  • Labour Management:
    • Oversee labour and sub-contract labour effectively.
  • Client Interaction:
    • Visit sites and establish strong relationships with clients.
    • Provide quotations and evaluate clients’ needs.
  • Customer Education:
    • Educate customers about available products and services and guide them through the purchasing process.
Key Skills:
  • Safety Regulations:
    • In-depth knowledge of current safety regulations.
    • Gas Safe Qualification required.
  • Communication and Negotiation:
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Proficient in negotiation and presentation.
    • Ability to write detailed technical reports and quotations.
  • Problem-Solving and Responsibility:
    • Analytical mindset to identify solutions and take ownership of challenges.
    • Commercial awareness to maximize value for clients’ businesses.
    • Enthusiastic and motivated, willing to take on high levels of responsibility.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Hold a full UK Driving Licence.
    • Familiarity with contractual documents.
    • Build strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and consultants.
    • Monitor performance indicators and drive necessary improvements.
