We are currently working with one of the fastest growing Solar companies in the UK. They are the UK’s first subscription based solar service. They have been running since 2022 but have huge financial backing and are rapidly expanding operations. They are looking for Regional Technical Manager to join their team who will be responsible for the quality of installations in their region, conducting both remote and in-person/WIP quality audits of the Solar & Battery Storage installation programme.
Their business model operates on a Sub-Contractor network model. They have a dedicated team of 5 Subcontractors nationwide who would directly report into you. As a Regional Manager you will be responsible for overseeing quality of residential solar installations through our installation partners. The skills you’ve developed in solar installation will be essential to maintain high installation standards through our subcontractor network and provide technical expertise to the rest of the Operations team.
As a Regional Manager, you will:
Be responsible for the quality of installations in your region, conducting both remote and in-person/WIP quality audits
Be a subject matter expert on solar and battery storage installation best practice
Help onboard new subcontractors as their installer network grows
Help deliver exceptional customer experience by problem solving for the installations in your area, supported by the office-based project management team
Keep up to date knowledge of building regulations and be an advocate for technical compliance within the business
Be willing to travel to installations within your region as required (not the majority of the job) and occasionally to the London office for workshops, team events, planning exercises, etc.
Be able to provide Technical support to the installers and customers when required.
This will be a flexible role working with the expectation to be in the office 2-3 days a week and other days on site. There is an option for this role to be remotely working from home as well with company mobile and laptop allocated.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years electrical experience
Experience in Solar PV, battery and EV installations and good working knowledge of MCS regulations
18th Edition City & Guilds (or equivalent)
NVQ Level 3
ESCS Gold Card
Inspection and testing qualifications (City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/5 or equivalent)
Ability to work with a diverse range of team members, communicate effectively, and work independently where needed
Full UK driving licence
Desirable (upskill training can be offered)
Regional / Area manager experience working with subcontractors
