About the Role We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified Solar Installations Manager to oversee 8–10 installation teams across domestic and commercial solar PV projects. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for maintaining quality standards, managing both subcontractors and direct employees, and ensuring compliance with electrical and solar installation regulations. This is a predominantly office-based role with occasional site visits to support teams, conduct inspections, and resolve technical issues. The ideal candidate will bring strong electrical experience, hands-on problem-solving ability, and a proven track record in solar installations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of 8–10 solar installation teams
Manage subcontractors and direct employees, ensuring performance and compliance
Conduct inspection checks and uphold quality standards across all projects
Provide hands-on support to resolve technical issues on-site when required
Ensure all works meet current electrical and solar PV regulations
Liaise with internal departments to coordinate scheduling, logistics, and reporting
Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Support health & safety compliance and risk assessments
Qualifications & Experience
Electrical qualifications: 2391, 2394 or 2395 (Inspection & Testing)
AM2 Certification
ECS Gold Card (Electrician)
Proven experience in solar PV installations (essential)
Strong understanding of BS7671 and MCS standards
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Full UK driving licence
